UNLOCKS SAVINGS
E15 drives greater competition and bigger savings at the pump without sacrificing fuel economy on the road. Last year, Americans saved an average of 22 cents per gallon with E15 compared to E10 gasoline.
UNLOCKS ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
E15 enhances our fuel supply by adding 5% more American bioethanol ‒ made from corn grown in Ohio. With rising gasoline prices, higher inflation, and mounting conflicts overseas, harnessing more homegrown biofuels makes sense. E15 will save families from unpredictable gasoline price spikes, expand dependable domestic markets for our farmers, and strengthen Ohio’s energy security.
UNLOCKS NEW DEMAND FOR FARMERS
Bioethanol production supports nearly 20,000 Ohio jobs and over 21,000 farms, adding more than $2 billion to our state’s economy. Almost 40% of Ohio’s corn crop goes to in-state bioprocessing facilities to create biofuels, feed, biogenic CO2, and other valuable co-products. Increasing access to E15 will lift farm incomes, generate more state and local tax revenues, and grow capital investments across the Buckeye State.
UNLOCKS BETTER AIR QUALITY
E15 can help cut lifecycle and tailpipe emissions immediately without forcing consumers to buy new vehicles or retailers to add costly infrastructure. Shifting from E10 to E15 across Ohio would reduce lifecycle emissions by 746,000 metric tons ‒ equivalent to taking more than 163,000 vehicles off our roads each year.

SUPPORT OHIO’S E15 SAVINGS BILL
HB 324 would create a market-based incentive for gas station owners to encourage greater consumer access to E15 – a 15% bioethanol fuel blend. The bill provides a $0.05 per gallon tax credit to fuel retailers in Ohio on each gallon of fuel sold containing at least 15% bioethanol. The incentive is temporary, non-refundable, non-transferable, and capped at $10 million. It is specifically targeted to retail businesses and does not impact state revenue from fuel taxes. Ohio’s $10 million E15 savings bill pays for itself by generating up to $44 million in annual savings at the pump.
